Surface Designer from Nottingham
On your door step in your own neighbourhood, when it comes to interior design and the love of design, you don’t have to look far to find fabulous designers. Local Design Maker Olivia Aspinall, here in Nottingham has an artistic flair for hand made surfaces and creates bespoke pieces. This bespoke dining table top was made by Olivia earlier this year for a project that was installed into a stunning penthouse apartment in Soho, London. A stunning sleek contemporary design with personality, a one off piece that would add WOW to any space. Photographed by Philip Durrant and styled by studioashby.com
Olivia’s background is in textile design, she has a love for colour, pattern and brings this aesthetic into her products. The material used is a casting material called Jesmonite, along with her tools of the trade to everyday objects, Olivia produces amazing results with this material.
This welcome desk is Olivia’s most recent project for Selfridges, Everbody Gym in London. I love the combination of the two colour mixes, divided but seamlessly married together in geometric pattern. You just want to stroke.
It’s really inspirational to see beautiful, contemporary surfaces being created and turned into bespoke furniture. When you have creative people on your door step that can produce amazing products, that can be designed to your requirements and to your colour preference who would not love that…I would love it.
